A city girl can survive…

Or at least that’s what New Yorker Frances Genovese hopes when she agrees to stay in Morning Glory, Mississippi for a few weeks after her brother’s wedding. Though she may not know much about small-town living, she does know a thing or two about the new restaurant her brother’s building. But she didn’t bargain for a big country boy naysaying her vision. And she darn sure didn’t expect to be so attracted to the infuriating contractor.

Clem Aiken knows two things what it means to be a country boy and the target market for the new eatery. When he and Frances clash on her ideas, he figures there’s one thing to do – teach the sophisticated beauty what it’s like to live in a southern small town. Frances reluctantly gives Clem three days to change her mind about the restaurant design. After all, how hard can it be to bait a hook, fry chicken or go honky tonkin’?

Opposites attract in this warm, fun novella set in Morning Glory.

Prince Not Quite Charming A Morning Glory Novella eBook Liz Talley

Consider me totally and completely charmed by this latest story in Liz Talley’s “Charmed” series. This novella packs a lot engaging characters, witty banter, romance and emotion into its pages. It is a very memorable visit to Morning Glory!

Stereotypical New York City Girl Frances Genovese is in deep south Mississippi for her brother Sal’s wedding. Polished, professional and clad in a sparkling pair of Jimmy Choo high-heeled sandals, Frances catches the eye on Clem Aiken, stereotypical Country Boy, complete with big bad pickup truck and aw-shucks flirty grin. But beneath these veneers lie multi-dimensional characters who are not all they seem. Both Clem and Frances are enlisted by Frances’ brother Sal to work together to get Sal’s New York Pizza ready for its Morning Glory grand opening, but each have very different ideas on that vision. An effort to come to some agreement in the design of the new restaurant, Frances agrees to Clem’s plan to tap into her inner “country girl.” As Frances begins to see the charms the southern town holds, Clem comes under the spell of Frances’ charms!

I loved these two! Clemson Todd Aiken II escaped from his family’s expectations and obligations that came with being an “Aiken.” Clearly our country playboy comes from a more upscale background. And focused Frances Anne feels decidedly unfocused as all her careful plans go awry; her long-time boyfriend could not make the next step towards marriage and her dad will not allow her to run the midtown Manhattan restaurant location of the family business. As Frances and Clem start to spend time together, stereotypes each held of the other start to soften. There were plenty of laughs, some steamy kisses and a touch of heartache as well. I was not sure Frances and Clem were headed towards that happily-ever-after, since life is not always a fairytale. But sometimes love can trample the obstacles after all! What a truly charming read!

Prince Not Quite Charming A Morning Glory Novella eBook Liz Talley Reviews

Great little escape. Loved this quick visit to Morning Glory with Sal's sister, Frances, who meets local boy, Clem. Cute love story and nice read for a lazy Sunday.
Quick morning read, I enjoyed the story of Sal's sister finding a love of her own and would love a follow-up story about Clem's return to Charleston with Frannie.
Predictable but a nice interlude until #3 in series is issued. Wish there had been a charm involved but nice side step. Fun series to read
Loved it, love the Morning Glory Series! Can’t wait for the new one, coming out in July.
I loved the concept of this story however I didn't feel that it was fully developed. I didn't feel the couple's connection as their story was rushed at he end. Too bad this could have been a great romantic story.
Loved everything about this "little" novella - it was FULL of awesome! I loved getting to know Frannie & Clem! A perfect addition to the Morning Glory Series...
Who doesn't love a strong, independent woman butting heads and with sexy, bullheaded man! These two have a an undeniable connection that starts out in a blaze... her hair was on fire!!! Instant sparks, but total denial on her part. I loved the vulnerability they have with each other and really enjoyed seeing them learn to trust each other. A battle of will. A battle of heart... a win in the end! I only wish we had a tad more time with them.
I loved this novella from the first chapter. What’s not to love about a heroine’s hair catching fire at a wedding and the hero dumping a pitcher of ice water over her head? That set the tone for the story. It was fun and lively as the two main characters fought their attraction. He was country and she was city. But there love was like a wrecking ball, as it said in the novella, and nothing could stop it. A Southern small-town setting adds a down-home flavor. The story is well-written and will keep you smiling and rooting for these characters. I highly recommend this novella.
